The comeback of the heavenly onesie

It used to be called the “flying suit” from the popular 80’s movie Top Gun, but with a little recognition and transformation the now newly endorsed playsuit or more commonly known as the jumpsuit is making a huge comeback. The comfortable and practical onesie is now working its way on up to Haute Couture and has been featured by some top designers such as: Stella McCartney, Karen Walker, Chanel, DVF and Dolce & Gabbana.

Fashion designers have been trying to revive the jumpsuit since the beginning of 2008. They are still been featured profoundly on both New York and London catwalks this year. Jumpsuits have been sighted from the runway to the classic boutique designers stores.

The re-emerging onesie are not anything like the mechanical 70’s version style, the finally got it right jumpsuit has been released in soft, slouchy, silky and organic fabrics for a sexy, chic image in a non commercial way.

The jumpsuit can be spun off in many different ways. Try dressing it up with chunky leather platforms, loud jewellery and a clutch or play it down with some leather strappy sandals, a large leather handbag and some sunglasses for a flattering versatile, easy to wear style.

Personally I think dark or patterned fabrics produce a finer look whilst making the body look long and lean. On the other hand a paler colour can tend to make people look like a marshmallow and can also make the bottom look long and wide.

Above a some of my hand picked favourites which will hopefully get you excited and you may then be on the hunt for a brand spanking new jumpsuit. I know I’ll be stocking up for summer!!

The 'smoke and mirrors' tee by S & B

I purchased 'smoke and mirrors' from SistersNZ at Mount Maunganui from the lovely Rodelle. This tee is covered in the most amazing diamante, studs and mirror domes. It kind of looks like your wearing a pair of hip overalls.

Has converted to and is amazed with MAC Products

MAC gave me the most amazing makeover yesterday, using the delightful studio sculpt spf 15 foundation, this foundation created an amazingly dewy complexion which resulted in a soft, supple and plush coverage. I am very impressed with it and I've even booked in my Ball make up with an MAC make artist for the end of Aug. I'm looking forward to it!
